SkyTeam’s Carry-on Calculator has received a Skift IDEA Award for its innovative approach to making customer journeys more seamless and stress-free.

The Skift IDEA awards honor inspiring, purpose-driven work from brands, agencies, and technology companies redefining the future of travel.

After deliberation by the award judging panel, our Carry-on Calculator was named winner of the Industry Innovators: Airlines and Airports category.

Alessandro Fusaro, Senior Manager Customer Experience at SkyTeam, was part of the team that developed the Carry-on Calculator. This week he attended the Skift Global Forum in New York City where the awards were handed out.

Alessandro said it was an honor to have been shortlisted in these prestigious industry awards.

Because hand baggage allowance can vary between airlines, it can be difficult for travelers to know if they are bringing the correct amount of carry-on for every flight – and trying to find out individual airlines’ carry-on policies can create stress and inconvenience.

SkyTeam’s Carry-on Calculator, which was designed and built in-house, was recognized by Skift judges as ‘a very quick, agile and enthusiastic approach’ to solving this issue.

The tool allows travelers to review all the hand luggage policies for the carriers in their itinerary, providing the most restrictive airline policy and giving travelers a breakdown of number of items allowed, including size and weight.
