Celebrating 25 years of SkyTeam with CEO Patrick Roux
A few words from SkyTeam CEO Patrick Roux as we mark a quarter of a century of our alliance.Warm greetings from Amsterdam!
We are fresh from marking SkyTeam’s 25th anniversary at the weekend with colleagues from our head office – a significant milestone that reflects a quarter century of partnership, progress and a shared commitment to delivering seamless travel experiences across the globe.
The celebrations provided an opportunity to look back and see how far we have come. A quarter of a century is a long time, and SkyTeam and our members have been on an extraordinary journey of partnership and cocreation – one that has required constant evolution to meet the changing needs of travelers and make every journey smoother.
And as we celebrate 25 years, we’re not just looking back – we’re excited about the progress we are making in building the next generation of travel experiences – smarter, more integrated and more responsible; a connected ecosystem that puts the customer in control.
Aside from the celebrations, it has continued to be a productive year with the latest Alliance Board meeting taking place at the recent IATA AGM in Delhi. This meeting was hugely important, as SkyTeam and our member airlines signed a joint Anti-Human Trafficking Declaration – the first initiative of its kind by a global airline alliance. This landmark declaration affirms our collective commitment to tackling this global crime. It builds on foundations shaped through initiatives at individual member airlines. By bringing our efforts together, we can further strengthen our impact – helping to make air travel safer for everyone.
The meeting also allowed for discussions on the future priorities of our alliance and, of course, a moment to mark SkyTeam’s 25th anniversary. It’s not that often that we can meet in-person with all our members, even more so celebrate a special moment like this all together.
Here’s to the next 25 years of flying better, together!
Warm regards,
Patrick Roux, CEO SkyTeam
