SkyTeam welcomes its first Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Customer Experience Officer (CXO)

SkyTeam announces the appointment of new members of staff to two specially created roles this month. Andy Lui joins us from Delta as Chief Information Officer, while Christian Oberlé from Air France takes up the role of Chief Customer Experience Officer.

These new roles will be critical to securing SkyTeam’s future as a digitally connected, customer-centric alliance, demonstrating our commitment to enhancing technology across SkyTeam to deliver a better, more seamless experience for our customers.

Get to know a little more about our newest colleagues by reading their biographies below.

Andy Lui – Chief Information Officer

Andy joins us from Delta, where he served as Director of IT. He brings 25 years of industry experience to SkyTeam, having previously held various senior IT leadership positions in Revenue Accounting, Agency and Corporate Sales, Finance, HR, Technical Operations, PMO, and Cargo.

At Delta, Andy led a team of 150+ skilled IT specialists in supporting Operations & Customer Centre (OCC) and Delta Connection. He helped to enable the integration of the regional carriers’ IT operations into Delta’s own IT systems, resulting in a more seamless and connected travel experience for Delta’s customers. This experience will be instrumental as SkyTeam focuses on its own digital transformation to enhance the customer experience.

Andy’s knowledge of and passion for IT is rooted in his university studies, where he graduated in computer science. He was born in Vietnam but spent his childhood in China, Canada and the US. He speaks several languages, including Mandarin and Cantonese.

Christian Oberlé – Chief Customer Experience Officer

Christian joins us from Air France, where he held several senior management positions for over two decades, notably as Senior Director revenue management, group Vice President distribution systems and strategy, group Vice President sales and marketing for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Regional General Manager.

He brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in the airline industry, at Air France’s head office and abroad. His notable achievements include leading negotiations with Amadeus to transition Air France KLM real-time passengers’ systems, designing innovative new services for customers, and managing joint Air France-KLM teams to deliver on ambitious financial targets.

Christian was most recently based in the customer experience division, where he helped to define and structure the experience approach with partners including Aeromexico, China Eastern, Delta, Korean Air and Virgin Atlantic. His breadth of knowledge will be vital as SkyTeam strategically focuses on developing technology and services that enable the most seamless customer experience of any global airline alliance.

He graduated in Business Administration from ESCP-Europe and was part of the Post Graduate Program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He is fluent in French and English, and can also speak German and Spanish.
