The Sustainable Flight Challenge (TSFC) is back for 2023

By organizing The Sustainable Flight Challenge (TSFC), SkyTeam aims to bring some of the aviation industry together, through a friendly competition, to act now and accelerate sustainable innovation. The goal of the challenge is to further reduce aviation’s impact on the environment and to spur breakthrough ideas, which can be shared across the industry.
Last year, 16 airlines took part in the inaugural initiative and sparked hundreds of ideas to make air travel greener. Together, they improved operational efficiency by 15% across the flights included in the challenge, measured by CO2 intensity.
This year, in a move designed to drive broader industry change, TSFC has been extended to ‘friends and family’ airlines close to SkyTeam.
The eight categories for TSFC cover multiple facets of environmental sustainability as they relate to aviation. They include critical challenges related to carbon emission reduction and extend to ground processes, food and beverage and a variety of other subjects to accelerate sustainable solutions.

Our members are sharing a wealth of creative ideas and showing immense commitment in our bold ambition of making The Sustainable Flight Challenge a force for change,” said Patrick Roux, SkyTeam CEO and Managing Director.
