China United Airlines (KN) has joined SkyTeam’s China Corporate Connection (SCCC) as a strategic partner.

The Beijing based airline is a subsidiary of China Eastern and offers 94 domestic routes to 79 cities across Greater China – including 38 not currently served by SkyTeam members.

SCCC contracts are equivalent to SkyTeam’s Corporate Agreements. Launched to comply with Chinese competition-law, they enable corporate customers with a travel spend of over two million CNY, including one million CNY in international travel, to connect their operations globally on three or more SkyTeam airlines.

Customers can choose to include any of the SkyTeam members serving Greater China and now request China United Airlines as part of their contract.

“The strategic partner model enables SkyTeam to offer an even broader network to corporate customers worldwide, ensuring contracts deliver greater value by taking travelers to the destinations they need to be,” says Ed Hollo, SkyTeam’s Director of Sales. “With over 9 million annual passengers, China United Airlines will make our SCCC agreements even more competitive in the Greater China Market.”

SkyTeam has included other airlines as strategic partners as part of corporate agreements for over 10 years. Current strategic partners include Virgin Atlantic, WestJet and GOL.

SkyTeam innovation drives reliable contract reporting

Thanks to Project START, we now have reliable, professional reporting on the performance of all our corporate contract performance.

Project START (SkyTeam Tracking and Reporting Tool) has been built in-house by SkyTeam as an innovative and cost-effective way to report on SkyTeam’s Corporate agreements, leveraging data from Prism. START will provide insights in contract performance not only from a member airline perspective, it is also build with the SCA customer perspective in mind. By providing valuable insights in contract performance START enables all stakeholders to measure value of the SkyTeam Corporate Agreements.

Work is now underway to develop it further and enhance capabilities over the next two years.

“Secure, accurate reporting is essential when it comes to monitoring the performance of SkyTeam Corporate Agreements and Project START will deliver a professional insight in market recovery and opportunities in a Post Covid environment, while saving costs for members,” says Ed Hollo, SkyTeam’s Director of Sales. “It’s another example of how SkyTeam can turn around innovative solutions at a pace, using in-house skills to develop technology where it’s needed.”
