SkyLink Digital Spine

We’re committed to listening to our customers. It’s a great way of finding out about the things we’re doing well and what needs improving, which enables us to learn how we can deliver an even greater customer experience.

As a result of this, SkyTeam has developed the SkyLink Digital Spine – advanced technology that’s enhancing our current tech hub with new functionalities. The Spine will gradually allow our 20 members to exchange seat maps and cross-sell ancillary products.

It works by acting as a translator (like Google Translate for languages), bridging the technology gap between our members and allowing for the translation and exchange of messages.

Ultimately, the Spine will help you – our member airlines – solve common travel pain points. This in turn will make your customers’ lives easier, offering greater simplicity and convenience when they’re flying with multiple SkyTeam members.

This technology is unique to SkyTeam. Needless to say, we’re very proud of it!

“SkyTeam is the alliance that listens to its customers and we continue to invest in innovative technology to make their traveling lives easier,” said Kristin Colvile, SkyTeam’s CEO and Managing Director. “The SkyLink Digital Spine is the latest in a long line of industry-leading initiatives that we have developed to solve travel pain points which frequent flyers come up against most.”

Delta and Aeromexico will be the first to take advantage of the technology within the Seamless Seat Maps & Ancillaries program, gradually rolling out the product from mid-July 2018. Customers flying on an itinerary with the two airlines will be able to select seats and/or buy seat products for their entire journey in the ‘My Trip’ section of the airlines’ websites.

The program will be extended to more members, with seven pairs connected by the end of 2018.
