SkyTeam insights and analytics: a data-driven exploration of our alliance

Thanks to our new Dashboard collating and visualizing critical data and metrics from across our member airlines, it’s now easier than ever to identify and solve key interline customer pain points across the alliance.

SkyTeam served no less than 5.94 million flown interline transfer passengers between Jan-Aug 2019 – meaning the insights we’re gathering are of critical importance to help us ensure each customer enjoys the most seamless traveling experience possible.

In August we started sharing some of these insights with you, and we’re looking forward to revealing more insightful data with you over the coming months to give you a clearer picture of how SkyTeam is performing against key metrics in relation to the interline-transfer customer experience.

We already shared with you some data on flight-departure punctuality for interline flown transfer passengers, with 99% of flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time.

This month, we’re taking a look at the numbers behind flight-arrival punctuality.

Once again we’re pleased to say that 82% of flights carrying at least one alliance interline transfer passenger between Jan-Jul 2019 within this period arrived at their destination within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time, with 46% arriving without any delay.

17% arrived more than 15 minutes after their scheduled arrival time, and less than 1% were ultimately cancelled.

We know that on-time arrival is a significant driver of a positive NPS score, so we will be undertaking additional analysis in this area and sharing the results with members to improve this statistic across the alliance.

These insights have been taken from data that factors in both original and connecting flight departures. Only flights with actual arrival times provided to OAG have been included.
