SkyTeam’s Revenue Development Team, under the leadership of Dao Nguyen, is thinking outside the box when it comes to solutions for our customers and members.
Here are three key projects that will help the team achieve that:
Virtual Interlining combines flight segments operated by different members, to address traditional codeshare limitations, use missing days of operations, and create new city pairs. This year, the Revenue Development Team will wrap up their Virtual Interlining Proof of Concept (PoC) between MU/VN and AF/CI. Dedicated resources are checking booking/fare combinations with payment confirmation, as well as seamless customer connectivity, with a commitment to expanding this valuable revenue source across the alliance for all member airlines in the coming years.
Trains are playing an increasingly important role in the aviation world when it comes to offering the seamless connections and sustainable options expected by customers and authorities. The Revenue Development Team’s connectivity strategy aims to build a portfolio of transport operators delivering revenue for members.
Prorate agreements form the financial basis of how interlining of passengers takes place. The Revenue Development Team is currently looking at how such agreements could generate additional income through, for example, the adoption of a global Special Prorate Agreement. The team will also explore new forms of cooperation to offer trusted partnerships to joint ventures and equity-based collaborations, and create wide-scale savings through joint purchasing.
