Korean Air expands cargo Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program with Yusen Logistics
Collaboration marks milestone in promoting environmental sustainability and climate goals within the air cargo sector.Korean Air has joined forces with Yusen Logistics, a global logistics company, to drive the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the air cargo sector.
The partnership was sealed with the signing of a SAF Cooperation Program Agreement at Yusen Logistics’ headquarters in Tokyo.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone as Yusen Logistics becomes Korean Air’s first cargo SAF partner with a major forwarder based in Japan. Together, they’re dedicated to promoting SAF usage across the Asian region in line with the aviation industry’s climate change objectives to be Net Zero emissions by 2050.
“We are delighted to welcome Yusen Logistics as our cargo SAF program partner, to jointly promote and implement SAF usage,” said Jaedong Eum, Senior Vice President and Head of Cargo Business Division, Korean Air. “We remain committed to the industry’s climate change goals, and the sustainable development of the air cargo industry.”
Korean Air is committed to cooperating with all relevant governments, clients and oil refinery companies to expedite the use of SAF and create an efficient domestic SAF infrastructure in Korea.
