Kristin’s end of year message

Dear Colleagues, the end of this year also marks my first six months as SkyTeam’s CEO, providing the perfect opportunity to look back at some of the achievements and changes that have taken place since I took up the role.

From January 1^st, SkyTeam will enter a new phase of its life as we officially start operating under SkyTeam Next Generation. The new structure allows us to better serve you, our members, in a more efficient and seamless way. We are confident that together we can strengthen our alliance and offer our stakeholders the best multi-airline customer experience by developing technology and closing the seams.

This year we made a strong start, launching several industry leading projects enabled by technology.

SkyTeam Rebooking, an alliance first, is now available at the majority of SkyTeam hubs and at over 50 airports around the world. Delta is expected to go live by the end of January 2019.

In August, the SkyLink Digital Spine launched successfully, facilitating Delta and Aeroméxico to cross-sell seat ancillaries. Since going live, 190k+ customers have viewed the seat maps and a further 80k+ have selected free or paid seats.

In addition, we developed an alliance-wide metasearch, overhauled our elite customer recognition (ECR) database and launched our first non-airline partnership with Hertz.

We end 2018 by shining a light on those people who have joined forces to create SkyTeam moments of excellence. The first ever MyTeam Awards were launched to celebrate the amazing collaboration that takes place every single day for the greater good of the alliance, and ultimately our customers. The nominations showed the breadth and depth of knowledge, expertise and dedication we are lucky to have in our alliance.

It was extremely difficult to choose just two winners. But I’m delighted to announce that the Dynamic Team Award went to 15 worthy winners for their work on the SkyTeam Chinese Corporate Connection program. And the Inspirational Individual went to Rohan Patell from KLM for his commitment to SkyTeam Rebooking over the last five years.

I want to thank you, the people who make our projects possible, for your dedication and hard work. As CEO of SkyTeam, it has made me extremely proud in my time here to see people from every member from around the world come together to create a better journey for our customers.
