SkyTeam Future Lab puts cocreation and co-ownership at the center of our 2027 ambitions

A dedicated ‘Future of SkyTeam’ innovation initiative is set to position SkyTeam as the world’s premier airline alliance, through close collaboration and cocreation with members.

SkyTeam Future Lab, part of building a SkyTeam for 2027 and beyond, has set the following ambition:

‘Become the leading alliance in fostering a culture of collaboration, co-innovation, and cocreation across our members to develop new value propositions and enhance the travel experience of their customers.’

To achieve this, the Future Lab will work closely with members to achieve the following milestones:

2023-2024

  • Launch an alliance-wide innovation community and development pipeline
  • Establish a network of global innovation platform partners, including Plug and Play, and the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub

The focus will be on:

  • Seamless customer experience (CX)
  • Cost reduction and efficiency
  • Knowledge sharing of best practices and new ideas across members

2025 and beyond

Learn, develop and modify, expand.

The SkyTeam Future Lab will be created using guiding principles and methodology based on ‘The Five Ps’:

Pipeline: From sourcing to integration

Platform: An alliance innovation community platform

Partners: An ecosystem of key innovation business and tech partners

Practice: Lead and facilitate ideation and cocreation with members

People: Use key talent from SkyTeam and members while embracing diversity and inclusion

The initiative will bring together the vast expertise and creative thinking in our alliance to create the SkyTeam we all want to see from 2027 onwards. Look out for updates in future editions of InTouch.
