SkyTeam’s sustainability message is being heard at business travel events and conferences around the world thanks to the efforts of the Commercial Synergies Team.
The Commercial Synergies Team is responsible for SkyTeam’s commercial programs, such as SkyTeam Corporate Agreements, SkyTeam China Corporate Connection, Global Meetings and Marine & Offshore.
The team is continually stepping up its efforts to showcase all things sustainability following a year in which it put the theme center stage at all SkyTeam-sponsored Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) events.
SkyTeam Director Sales Solutions & Commercial Synergies Wim Iserief said: “Sustainability is increasingly a priority for business travel across the globe.”
“As sustainability is one of SkyTeam’s key focus areas, we have lots of insight and initiatives to showcase how the alliance is aligned with the needs of corporate travel.”
One example includes the GBTA Mexico conference in which SkyTeam hosted and participated in a panel discussion on sustainability with other industry experts.
And during the 62nd International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) congress in Bangkok, Thailand, SkyTeam Global Meetings took part in a panel that explored the latest sustainability developments in aviation.
Topics covered include The Sustainable Flight Challenge, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), hybrid aircraft and IATA’s Net Zero By 2050 emissions target.
Following its success, the panel is scheduled to make a return on an even bigger stage for this year’s 63rd ICCA Congress in Abu Dhabi.
Sustainability was also an integral part of the SkyTeam China Corporate Connection’s year-end wrap-up summit with Chinese corporate customers and representatives in January, with the unveiling of the ‘Green Procurement Initiative’, which aims to inspire corporate clients to adopt ESG-focused strategies for business travel procurement.
