SkyTeam’s new Carry-on Calculator lets customers travel with confidence

Customers connecting between SkyTeam member airlines can now be certain their hand baggage complies with every airline in their itinerary, thanks to SkyTeam’s new Carry-on Calculator.

This industry-first solution will end the uncertainty faced by passengers flying with multiple SkyTeam member airlines. Until now, travelers might begin the first part of their journey adhering to the operating carrier’s baggage rules, only to discover that airlines for onward segments have different carry-on rules. SkyTeam’s Carry-on Calculator, available on skyteam.com, is set to remove stress and uncertainty at the transfer station and make journeys seamless.

Customers simply need to enter the operating airlines and class of travel for their journey – up to six legs per search – and the calculator recommends the hand luggage for the entire journey. It provides a breakdown of member policy and a link to each airline’s dedicated hand luggage web page. Results are based on the most restrictive carry-on and personal item allowance for every flight, including bag dimensions and maximum weight.

Agents can refer customers to the Carry-on Calculator on skyteam.com. Several member airlines are already sharing links to the calculator directly with customers. These include Aeromexico, Air Europa, Delta, MEA, TAROM, Saudia and Virgin Atlantic. 

The SkyTeam Carry-on Calculator is available in English, with results in metric or imperial systems.
