Future female leaders make their first strides with SkyTeam’s RISE Leadership Program
SkyTeam launches RISE Leadership Program, empowering women to reach new heights in the aviation industryFuture female leaders from across our alliance have started their journey with SkyTeam’s first Female Leadership Program.
RISE is a structured year-long program providing mentoring, development opportunities and executive coaching to women who have been identified as high-potential future leaders.
The program was kicked off on 21 April by SkyTeam CEO Kristin Colvile and one of our Executive Sponsors, Anne Rigail, CEO of Air France, attended by candidates put forward by our member airlines.
The aim of RISE is to improve gender inclusivity by giving women the tools they need to advance their aviation careers, and to support our member airlines in achieving IATA’s 25by2025 goals.
“With almost 30 years in aviation, and as the first female CEO of an airline alliance, I am passionate about closing the gender gap so that our industry better reflects our customer base,” said Kristin Colvile. “RISE will empower more women to reach senior positions and show others a clearer path to success. What better way to attract the next generation of young women to choose a career in aviation than to have more female leaders as role models in our global airlines?”
SkyTeam is already a strong advocate for greater gender diversity having become the first global airline alliance to sign up to IATA’s 25by2025 initiative in September 2021. As part of this voluntary commitment, we and our 18 members unanimously commit to increasing the number of women in senior positions and under-represented areas by 25% – or up to a minimum of 25% – by 2025.
